The Dare To Do website was initially developed by Bryan Lattin, Jo Failes, and Benny Wu, who were all students from Wollongong University. The initial development of this web site had been completed as a component of IACT430, a subject taught by Lois Burgess. Also involved in the initiation of the project was Head of the School, Professor Joan Cooper.

As of December 24 1999, the development of the Dare To Do site has been taken on as a community project by David Greiner and Ben Richardson, two young Wollongong University graduates living in Sydney Australia of Switch I.T. shared the vision for making a difference sharing their talent.
